Our venue recommends arriving at the Rennaissance Center at least 30 minutes prior to the ceremony to give yourself enough time to get to the venue. The venue will begin letting guests upstairs beginning at 5:00pm. Once our ceremony begins at 5:30pm, the elevators will not be allowing anyone upstairs until the ceremony is complete. Please ensure to give yourself enough time to park and find your way to the venue.
Both the ceremony and reception will be held indoors. Our venue offers stunning views of the Detroit River and skyline rain or shine!
Great news! Our ceremony and reception are held in the same space and we have a hotel attached to the venue. A parking garage is also attached to the venue.
Please utilize the Beaubien Place Parking Garage that is located on the east side of the RenCen, 2nd garage closest to the river - 238 Beaubien St, Detroit MI 48243 - Please make sure you park in this parking structure as we will not be able to validate your parking if you park in the first garage, which is Port Atwater. Beaubien has blue signs, Port Atwater has red signs. Once you park in the garage, please utilize the 2nd floor bridge that is located in the parking garage. It will give you direct access to the building. You may use the escalators or the Marriott elevators. Usage of Escalators: Once you enter the building, you will then proceed straight ahead and will walk around the blue circular wall and will find escalators. Please take 2 escalators up to the 3rd level. You will then walk around a circular wall and will find the Highlands Host stand; please tell the hostess you are here for the Simonds Bradstreet Wedding and she will be able to scan you up to the 72nd floor. Usage of Elevators: Once you enter the building, you will turn to your right and will walk until you see an arrow pointing to the Marriott Guest Elevators. There will be glass doors at the entrance of the overpass to your left. You will see a Starbucks at the entrance of the elevators. Take the elevator up to level 3. Once you have arrived, turn to your right, or left to exit out of the elevator lobby area and you will see glass doors to the entrance of the Highlands host stand; please tell the hostess you are here for the Simonds Bradstreet Wedding and she will be able to scan you up to the 72nd floor. If you have any questions on navigating the building when you enter, there will be a security guard at the entrance of the 2nd level bridge. If you ask which way to the Highlands, they will be able to direct you the correct way.
Following the ceremony, the wedding party will take pictures while our guests enjoy cocktail hour with drinks and hor d'oeuvres.
We want everyone to feel as comfortable as they can and you know what you look best in! That said, we request cocktail attire or above.
While we love your little ones, our wedding is going to be an adult-only event so that everyone can relax and enjoy the evening. We appreciate you making arrangements ahead of time and leaving the kids at home so you can celebrate with us!
Our room block at the Detroit Marriott RenCen has since expired. If you are still need of a room, you can book at the Courtyard Marriott Downtown Detroit. This is 0.1 miles from the Renaissance Center and can be accessed through an interior walkway.
You most certainly can! We will have assorted pizza options to keep you fueled as the night goes on.

There is absolutely NO smoking in our venue. This includes the use of e-cigarettes or vapes. If you need to smoke, you need to go downstairs and exit the Renaissance Center.
We kindly ask for all devices to be put away during our ceremony. We have an extremely talented photography team who will be taking our photos. Following the ceremony, feel free to take as many pictures as you'd like.
We are so excited to celebrate this day with our nearest and dearest! As we have a strict guest list to stay within our venue's capacity, we can only accommodate those listed on your specific invitation. Your invitation will advise if you have a plus one.
Yes! We intend to drink and dance the night away.
Our wedding will be held on the 72nd floor. If you are nervous around heights, we have a secondary interior elevator (with no windows) to escort you up to the venue. Please ask the Highlands hostess or security attendant for directions.
