Andrew Silvestro

Best Man

I met Andrew sometime in 2008 (maybe 2009) but became good friends in 2011 after we travelled to Texas together. Bad weather forced a group of 7 to all fly differently, with Andrew and Simon on a plane together. Andrew and I tend to look at the world in a similar way (I'll leave that to the reader's imagination) and I consider him my closest friend. We have travelled to: Chicago, New York City, Texas, Las Vegas, Boston, and Mexico. Andrew and his wife Elisa live in Elisa's hometown, Timmins (shout out to Shania Twain!) They recently welcomed a baby girl.

Kalley Weltz

Bridesmaid

I have had the longest friendship of all with Kalley. We have been friends for almost 31 years and were introduced one snowy winter day when we were just 6 months old. Kalley is the sister I never had - we shared soothers, dolls, clothes and wore wigs so we could look like twins. Our nicknames were Mary Kate and Ashley. Like sisters, we learned to swim together, shared high tea outings, and spent many summer holidays at our family cottage in Huntsville. In all the years we’ve been friends, Kalley has made sure that our friendship matters above everything else. She is always willing to offer a listening ear and a warm hug.

David Keller

Groomsman

David and I met in Surfer's Paradise, Australia. We were both studying for our MBA (David notoriously never came to any class, he was always at the beach). We studied in Australia for the same reason: the weather. David is from Switzerland and we had met during the international student orientation. We both like to travel and travel in a similar style: we look for nice weather, exotic locations, and want to try everything. I have travelled to Switzerland for Fasnacht (Carnival) for several years where I have met David's extended family and hockey friends. The locals in David's hometown cannot believe I travel all the way from Canada to visit their small town and festival. David has returned the favour by visiting Kitchener's Oktoberfest a couple of times. Together, we have travelled to: Bali, Denmark, Ecuador, The Galapagos Islands, Peru, Ibiza (Spain), Las Vegas, New York City, Mexico, and Thailand. The picture of David is from The Galapagos Islands.

Jessica Furtado

Bridesmaid

Jessica and I have been friends for 27 years. We met in JK and bonded over our love for Polly Pockets. We sealed our friendship with a talent show dance to U.G.L.Y in Grade 4. Although we attended different high schools, we remained connected through a common love for exercise and fitness. We attempted a triathlon in Ottawa (really a biathlon according to the race coordinator) but we managed to complete the ENTIRE course of the Soldier Field 10 mile run in Chicago. Jess always takes the time to listen, reflect and offer thoughtful advice. She has helped me navigate some difficult situations, and I am forever thankful for the friendship we started when we were just 4 years old.

David Kaduk

Groomsman

David has to be one of the nicest and good hearted people I have ever met. I met David in 2008/2009 and we hit it off. David's fun personality and laughter can be infectious, as is evident from his picture. David has lived in a number of cities over the years but we have remained close friends and still make an effort to see each other. We have travelled together to: Texas, Florida, Amsterdam, Ibiza (Spain), Las Vegas, and Mexico

Lesia Polischuk

Bridesmaid

Lesia and I have been friends for 25 years. It all started at the art table in grade one when she asked me to be her friend. Since that moment, Lesia and I were “glued at the hip” - so much so that our teachers referred to us as the Bobbsey Twins. Because of Lesia I have enjoyed some wonderful Ukrainian traditions- New Years Malanka, making Ukrainian Easter Eggs and eating the best cabbage rolls in our region! Lesia is loyal, kind-hearted and has always been a pillar of support.

Hector Gomez Calderon

Groomsman

What to say about Hector..... every friend group has that "wanderer", the guy who seems to disappear at parties but always shows back up with a story. I met Hector in Australia while he was working on his English skills. Hector is a remarkably nice person, always with a smile, and always tries to have a positive attitude. Hector is from and continues to reside in Spain. Together we have travelled to: New York City, Las Vegas, Mexico, and Ibiza (Spain). This will be Hector's first time in Canada, so please, show him some Canadian hospitality!

Lilian Harder

Bridesmaid

Lillian and I have been friends for 12 years. We met in first year university and have remained friends ever since. Following graduation, Lillian and I traveled to Amsterdam, Munich, Berlin and Prague for an adventure of a lifetime. Lillian is the friend I turn to for home design advice - she has a knack for that. Creative, warm, loving and supportive. She is a positive light for many, including me.
