Simon and I met in May of 2018 on Tinder. We had both only been on the app briefly and matched after I had been on it for about a week. After a couple days of talking, we decided to meet up for a date in Gulfport which was a halfway point for us since he was living in Covington and I lived in Hattiesburg at the time. After our first date together, I remember texting one of my close friends saying how amazing he was and there was no way he’d be interested in me, but sure enough, we immediately set up a second date. After our second date to the Audubon zoo, he asked me if I wanted to come stay the weekend with him in Louisiana, and we were together every single weekend after that before moving in together in May of 2019 just one year after we met. We’ve been inseparable ever since our very first date which seems like so long ago and have both known we loved one another very early on. There’s no doubt that we were made to be together for the rest of our lives.
After I graduated and moved in with Simon, it seemed like the next logical step would be for us to get married shortly after and start our lives together, but things of course don’t always go as planned. Simon and I were living with his mom at the time and the goal was to get our own place soon. I had just started my first job as a PTA in New Orleans and was saving every penny so we could finally get an apartment. Shortly after my 21st birthday, September 12th to be exact, Simon was convinced that I was pregnant, and me being me, I took a test to prove to him that I was NOT. If you’re on this wedding website then you must know us pretty well, and know that to my surprise, I was in fact pregnant. I was honestly just more shocked that he was right and I was wrong. Our focus shifted from getting our own place to making sure we had enough saved up to get ready for our sweet baby boy River who has been the most AMAZING blessing to us. I already loved Simon more than anything, and then I saw him become a dad and it multiplied by a hundred. The little family we’ve created together is my biggest accomplishment, and I can’t wait to officially be a Sunseri along with my two best guys.
