How We Met

09.16.17

We met in high school in Spanish class and didn't really talk to each other that much, then out of nowhere, I get a Snapchat from him. Basically we started talking and he eventually asked me out on a double date with our friends and we instantly hit it off. On our date, we went to Buffalo Wild Wings and ate dinner, then he took me to my favorite place, Pet Land, then after Pet Land we went to Academy and we were just looking around when he takes my hand and takes me down this aisle and pulls me in for a kiss and asks me to be his girlfriend and of course I said yes. Then right after that happened, I remember running to find my friend and tell her what had just happened. Then maybe a year after we started dating, I found out that he asked me out because of a bet with his friends and needless to say he was glad he did, 3 years later and here we are.

The Proposal

09.20.20

Jacob and I had planned to go to Cheaha State park and spend the day there. We got there that morning and head up to my favorite spot, Bald Rock. As we were sitting there, Jacob sneakily asked me what the prettiest time to be there was. Of course I told him at sunset. We decided to leave Bald Rock and going hiking down at Lake Chinnabee. After we got done hiking, we went back to Bald Rock. While we were waiting for sunset, we notice a man standing on the boardwalk in a suit. Then he comes down to the rock we were on and he has a photographer with him. Next thing I see is a woman in a wedding dress coming down to see him. They were waiting on sunset too. So as we were all waiting, I asked them if they had just gotten married that day, to which they replied, “Oh no, we’ve been married for 2 years, we’re just now getting around to taking pictures.” Thats when Jacob sighed a breath of relief. So again, with Jacob being sneaky, he goes, “Let’s go to the boardwalk and see the view from up there.” I said okay and thought nothing of it. Then we get on the boardwalk and Jacob tells me that he forgot something down on the rock. When he goes down there, he sneaks over to the couple and their photographer and tells them, “Hey, I don’t want to steal your thunder or anything but I came down here to propose, if it’s a problem, I won’t do it.” To which the woman and the photographer replied, “You better do it.” So Jacob asks if the photographer minded taking our picture and started pulling out his phone. The photographer was like, “Why would I use your phone? I have a camera.” So after they got that worked out, Jacob calls me back down to the rock. When I got down there, i stood by Jacob and then next thing I knew, he was down on one knee. And the rest is history. Both Jacob and I are extremely grateful for that amazing couple and photographer who helped us capture this amazing moment in our lives. We both think it was a sign from God that it was meant to be.
