We met back in August of 2018 at LaGrange College and became close friends quickly after. At the time, both of us were music majors, and music became one of our most common interests that we bonded over. Our connection with each other was a special bond, and we both love how our relationship started as best friends first!

We had been best friends for quite a few months, and our relationship continued to grow closer and closer. There were some hard times we both were going through before we started dating, and that really made us realize that we needed each other- more than just friends! It just kind of happened, without us even expecting it for a while! Everything happens for a reason, and we know that God was leading us toward each other at the right time.

There have been a couple of vacations that we have gone on together, and they have been so much fun! Our first trip together was to Myrtle Beach for New Years, and we had such a blast! That was when we truly got to see each other 24/7, bed-head and all! This past summer, we went on a 2-week long road-trip from places like Elvis' Graceland to the Ark Encounter to St. Augustine, Florida! All of our adventures so far have been so amazing, and we cannot wait to see all of the others we will go on in our lifetime- especially our Disney World trip for our Honeymoon!

The proposal could not have been planned more perfectly. It happened in my backyard, and Jason had everything coordinated to a "T!" He made sure that I was dressed nice, and of course my family and his family was in on it. He proposed the day before my birthday, so I definitely was not suspecting anything! I walked outside to meet him for "dinner" and he had our song playing on a speaker and he called me over in the backyard. He spoke the kindest words, and got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife! I of course said yes, and was overwhelmed with joy and emotion at the fact that I was looking at my future husband. And the rest is history! -Simmerly

We both are going to be finishing our last semester of school shortly after we get married in January. Jason with his Masters in Music Production at Berklee College of Music, and Simmerly with her Bachelors in Marketing and Entrepreneurship at LaGrange College. Jason plans on continuing working in higher education, and Simmerly is hoping to find a job teaching Marketing in secondary education.
