It was pretty simple, even though she tried to complicate it. We would leave her house to get shaved ice, and everyone would be there when we got back. She wanted to leave the house pretty late, meaning it would be dark when we got back. I grew a gray hair trying to figure out how to convince her to leave earlier. Then I grew another when she decided she wanted to go to a friend's house instead of going back home. We were able to sell the story that the couple I came with had to leave early. She was upset, but oh well! Everyone was lined up with balloons saying "Will you marry me?", and there were rose petals in a heart shape on the ground. It was beautiful, and I thank everyone for making it possible. There were lots of tears and hugs. We're so excited to spend the rest of our lives together!
