Flight

Best airlines to fly with: Lufthansa/United, Swiss, Austria, KLM / Delta.

Leaving from Newark or JFK are the best options. There are 2 Options for Airports you can land in Croatia. 1st Opt: Pula International Airport (PUY) - Ližnjan, Valtursko polje, 210, 52100, Pula, Croatia This option is 5 min from Villa Manhattan (Silvija's Parents House), 15 min from main city of Pula, named Old Town/City Center, and an hour away from the venue at Amadria Park Beach Hotel Royal. 2nd Opt: Franjo Tudman Internation Airport Zagreb (ZAG)- Ul. Rudolfa Fizira 21, 10410, Velika Gorica, Croatia This is the Capital of Croatia. Its a 2 hour drive from here to the venue at Amadria Park Beach Hotel Royal and 3 hours away from Villa Manhattan in Pula. This is sometimes a cheaper option however you will need to rent a car or find public transportation. Either option you choose you can reserve a rent car at the airports to have the freedom to drive and adventure out. There are buses available and taxis as alternative options. To Depart back home you can either leave from Pula, Zagreb or our personal favorite Zadar. Opt 1: Leaving from Pula is the easiest but may be the most expensive and time consuming to come back home because of the multiple stops that it will have. Opt 2: Leaving from Zagreb is the cheapest option but may be the most inconvenient place to leave from as it requires you to rent a car or take public transportations with multiple stops. And on top of that a majority of the flights leave EARLY IN THE AM! Opt 3 (Our Personal Favorite): Leaving from Zadar, a town that is only a 2 hour drive from Opatija, is another quaint town that you can visit on your way back home. It is easy to get there via Bus and once in the city of Zadar there are PLENTY of Ubers from which you can take to get around and the airport is only a 20 min drive from Old Town, Zadar. Rental Car

Transportation: Bus / Rent a Car / Taxi

Public Transit Bus can be used to get from Airports to City Centers: Flix bus is the most common bus to use. You can purchase tickets ahead of time at www.flixbus.com Rental Car Companies at Airports are: Enterprise, Alamo, Hertz, Sixt, Avia, Dollar Thrifty, Europcar, etc.. You can reserve a rent a car via their individual websites for best rates or travel websites such as Expedia, Orbitz, etc... A rent a car is convenient if you will be driving around to other cities or beaches. Note: If you are choosing to rent a car, make sure your rental property has a drive way for ease of parking if you are in the city. (cars in the city are usually not needed, most things are within walking distance or you can use a Taxi/Bus.) Also note that we recommend always taking pictures of the car on all sides prior to driving off and when you return, this is more so you can prove there were no scratches or damage made by you.

Food

Croatian cuisine is a delightful blend of Mediterranean and Central European flavors, reflecting the country's diverse cultural influences. Along the coast, seafood takes center stage, with fresh fish, squid, and shellfish often grilled and served with olive oil, garlic, and herbs. A standout dish is Black Risotto (crni rižot), made with cuttle fish or squid ink, giving it a deep and striking color and flavor. Pula is a coastal city in the region of Istria which is also known for its truffles. It is also very close to Italy so you will experience great pasta and pizzas. Inland, the cuisine shifts to heartier dishes like stews, roasted meats, and homemade sausages. Traditional specialties include "peka" ( meat or seafood baked under a bell) and "burek" savory flaky pastry filled with either cheese, spinach, or meat. Some of our Favorite restaurants in Pula are Pizzeria Jupiter or Pizzeria Tivoli Our Favorite restaurant in Opatija is Roko Pizzeria
