Things To Do

Barcelona

Barcelona, CT, Spain

Barcelona – one of the easiest and stress-free ways of getting to Barcelona is by train from Sitges. This is cheap, fast, efficient and takes you to the heart of the city (Paseo De Gracia or Sants). One of the best ways to see the city is by purchasing an all-day ticket on one of the open air tourist buses. These allow you to hop on and off as much as you like and do take in all the main sights.

Sitges

CT, Spain

Sitges is the closest city to our wedding venue. With its windy narrow streets and wide beached promenade, Sitges is a marvellous little town. It is no wonder that it is the most expensive town in Spain – it has some great restaurants and an atmosphere to savour. Its many various fiestas attract spaniards from all over Catalonia. I would recommend a (fish) lunch (Laury perhaps) in the port of Aquadolc. The restaurants I favour in the town are the excellent Al Fresco (you will need to book in advance) in the centre of town and La Fragata (938941086) on the front. If you fancy some entertainment with your meal, you won’t be disappointed by Eternal. For those who want to party all night, I favour the night-club in the port Otto Zutx, which you will see advertised around Sitges. Sitges is very international. It is the gay capital of Spain. If you want to find an internet cafe or do some trendy clothes shopping, Sitges should suit.

Vilafranca del Penedès

Vilafranca del Penedès, CT 08720, Spain

The wine region of the Penedes is home to 99% of the country’s cava wine and also the famous Torres winery. You can visit Torres in Villafranca and also Cordoniu in Sant Sadurni D’Anoia. Alternatively you can explore all the many producers in the area. Some are well worth a visit – Llopart (near Vilafranca) for example produces cava that rivals most Champagnes.

Castelldefels

Castelldefels, CT, Spain

For the best beaches, Sitges would boast great variety and clean water. If you find the beaches a little crowded, try San Sebastien round the corner from the church. For the more open and less commercial beaches, you may want to try Vilanova. If wind-surfing is your thing, you won’t be disappointed by the very long sandy beach in Casteldefells. If

Tarragona, Spain

CT 43840, Spain

If you fancy a trip to a theme park, Port Aventura is forty minutes down the C32 at Tarragona and renowned in Catalonia, providing for all age groups and is popular for good reason. For the historically minded, the roman-walled town of Tarragona is recommended.
