OPENING PRAYER & PRAISE/ WORSHIP

Officiating Minnister

EXHORTATION, CHARGE AND DECLARATION.

The congregation is seated while the couple remains standing. Dear beloved, we gather in response to the request and invitation of SILVIA and PRECIOUS to be joined in Holy Matrimony in the presence of God and His people. Marriage is the closest relationship that can exist between human beings and the uniting of two people in Holy wedlock is a sacred event. When two born again believers know it is God's will for them to marry, they come before God, His Ministers and before witnesses, to join their hearts and lives for as long as both shall live. They are united by God as one in His sight. They are joined together as Jesus is joined to the Church. The Bible calls it a great mystery (Eph.5:32). Therefore, the wife is the focus of her husband's love. Even as the church is the focus of Christ's love. The marriage is not just a legal contract, but a spiritual covenant. There is an actual miracle that takes place when two born again believers speak the words of faith and make their vows according to God's word, God honors their faith and unites them together. The Pastor shall say to the Groom Pastor: PRECIOUS, have you accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and personal Saviour? Response: I have. Pastor: Have you received the Holy Spirit to dwell in you? Response: I have. The Pastor shall say to the Bride. Pastor: SILVIA, have you accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and personal Savior? Response: I have Pastor: Have you received the Holy Spirit to dwell in you? Response: I have. The Pastor shall say to the congregation. In the eyes of God, these two people are washed in the precious blood of Jesus Christ, any man who is in Christ is a new creature; old things have passed away and all things become new (IICor.5:17). They have made their decisions to be joined together in marriage, believing this to be the perfect will of God for them. So from now, until the end of time, I charge you to do everything within your power to see that this remains solid, happy and prosperous, let no person tamper with it or cause it to be anything other than what God has ordained it to be.

CONGREGATIONAL HYMN: Great is thy Faithfulness.

1. Great is thy faithfulness, O! God my Father; There is no shadow of turning with Thee, Thou changeth not, thy compassions, they fail not; As Thou hast been Thou forever wilt be. Chorus: Great is Thy faithfulness, great is Thy faithfulness! Morning by morning new mercies I see, All I have needed Thy hand hath provided, Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord unto me. 2. Summer and winter, spring time and harvest; Sun, moon and stars in their course above, Join with all nature in manifold witness, To Thy great faithfulness, mercy and love. Chorus: 3. Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth, Thy own dear presence to cheer and to guide, Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow, Blessings all mine with ten thousand beside. Chorus:

5. JOINING AND PRAYER

The Congregation shall be seated. The Pastor shall say: Who gives SILVIA to be married to PRECIOUS? The father of the Bride shall answer: I DO. Here the father comes out, takes the Bride by the right hand and hands her over to the officiating minister and to the Groom. The Groom will unveil the Bride. The Pastor shall say to the Groom: Pastor: PRECIOUS, do you take SILVIA as your own flesh, to love her as Christ loves His Church, to protect her and care for her for the rest of her life? Response: I DO. I, PRECIOUS I according to the word of God, leave my father and mother and join myself to you, SILVIA, to be a husband to you. From this moment forward, we shall be one; I take you to be my wedded wife, to love you with all my heart's affection, to endow you with all my earthly possessions, to give you all the honor of my name and to share with you the grace of God. The Pastor shall say to the Bride: Pastor: SILVIA, do you take PRECIOUS as your husband, submitting yourself to him as unto the Lord, showing reverence to him as the head of this union for the rest of your life? Response: I DO. I, SILVIA, according to the word of God, leave my father and mother and I join myself to you, PRECIOUS, to be wife to you. From this moment forward, we shall be one. I take you to be my wedded husband, to love you with all my heart's affection, to endow you with all my earthly possessions, to give you all honor of my name and to share with you the grace of my God. The Minister receiving the rings shall bless them saying. Let us pray: Sanctify these rings, O Lord, each of them being an unbroken circle which symbolizes eternity of Thy righteousness. Sanctify the two persons who are making these rings the seal of their love, their vows and their covenant, and these rings serving as a constant reminder; make their marriage an unbroken continuous fullness of love, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ we pray. Amen. The Pastor shall say to the couple: Wear these rings as a continual reminder of the confession of faith you have made to each other in the presence of witnesses and before the Father, in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen. The Groom holding the rings shall say: I, PRECIOUS, with this ring, I thee wed. It is a token of my love for you and token of my faith that I release now, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen. The Bride Holding the Ring shall say: I, SILVIA, with this ring, I thee wed. It is a token of my love for you and token of my faith that I release now, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

6. PRONOUNCEMENT OF MARRIAGE.

The Pastor will hold the couple's right hands together and raise them up, For as much as SILVIA and PRECIOUS have consented to come together in Holy Wedlock and have witnessed the same before God and before His congregation and hereto have pledged their love and faith to each other, in giving and receiving rings, I hereby pronounce them husband and wife from this day forward in the name of God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Ghost, Amen. The couple shall kneel down to be surrounded by the officiating ministers for prayer

7. HOLY COMMUNION FOR THE COUPLE.

The couple shall kneel down to take it. Both of you as believers have received the communion table in the past. You know what it means, but I want to remind you that we live under a covenant with God. This covenant was ratified by the shedding of the blood of Jesus Christ at Calvary. It is important as you continue your marriage covenant with each other in the Lord that you honor the Lord and honor His table. Jesus said “This is my body broken for you, eat of it.” The precious body bore your sicknesses and carried your diseases. The two of you together in the name of Jesus Christ, have the God-given faith and power to ward off sicknesses, diseases, and the storms of life, and everything that hell would offer marriage through this broken body you receive into your hand the awesome power of Almighty God. The Pastor to give bread to the couple, Jesus said, “This is my blood that ratified the covenant, drink of my blood and as often as you drink it, do it in remembrance of me.” As you drink today, I want you to remember the covenant that He had made available to you, the power that He has made yours and all He has done for you. The Pastor to give wine to the couple.

8. PRESENTATION OF THE COUPLE TO THE CHURCH.

(The congregation standing) The Pastor shall say to the Bride and Groom: “Please turn and face the congregation.” Ladies and Gentlemen. I present to you MR. & MRS. AJONODE. What, therefore, God has joined together, let no customs, traditions, culture, law courts, religion, spirit, the couple themselves, angels, ethnicity, circumstances or any other tendencies, named or unnamed, born or unborn, put asunder. Amen.

How We Met

Corper Wee!!!

In January 2018, we were both called to serve our country. Our mandatory three-week orientation camp was held in Ede, Osun State. During this time, we both volunteered for the Orientation Broadcasting Service (OBS). While we had a few brief interactions amidst the bustling camp activities, that was the extent of our encounter. After camp, our paths diverged as we were posted to different locations. Without exchanging contact information, we parted ways. Fate, however, had other plans. At the end of our service year, we bumped into each other. This time, we exchanged contacts and became really cool friends.
