Bear Brook Valley, NJ. We planned a two-week whirlwind trip to DC, NYC, and Boston around this beautiful wedding (@Andrew & Amanda). The best part was for Kai to meet Ali's extended family in DC.

Berkeley, CA. The proposal! Kai kept cool on the outside but barely slept the night before. Ali was pushy and uncooperative on plans-per usual but quickly came around when she caught Kai on one knee!

Oakland, CA. The second surprise of proposal day! Kai had all of our friends in The Bay (bonus visit from Sam and Kelsey from LA) to meet us at our favorite beer garden to celebrate our engagement!

Big Sur, CA. Ali applied for every wedding-related sweepstakes she came across and actually won one! We squeezed in some beautiful engagement photos on the CA coast right before the pandemic.

Walnut Creek, CA. Activities in the time of Covid. We took advantage of having to stay at home to explore as many moderate-level lightly-trafficked trails in the area as possible.

PCT, near Lake Tahoe, CA. We spent a few weeks over the summer near Lake Tahoe (thanks to Corey, May, and our "in-laws"), such a reprieve from our apartment and city life in Oakland.
