Visit Historic Salem
Mid-September is an ideal time to visit Salem before the crowds become overwhelming. It's only about a half-hour from Ipswich, MA if you are in the mood to do some sightseeing.
Yankees vs Red Sox at Fenway Park

Visit Rockport
Rockport is another historic shore town with beautiful views, walks out onto the rocks and a lot of little shops and restaurants. See the red barn that has been the focus of more paintings than any other building in the world.
Cape Ann Whale Watch
Jon, Kara and Krista have been on this whale watch twice in the Spring. Make sure you plan enough time and bring layers if you plan to go! Alternatively, just come to visit historic Gloucester, there are several museums, a lighthouse to walk out to, cute shops and learn about the history of the Perfect Storm.

Out of town history buffs can take a tour or wander through Boston at your own pace to learn about the American Revolution.
