In August 2014, Amy started working at Fitness Formula Clubs as a dietitian. Josh was a personal trainer there, and she caught his eye right away. A nutrition consult and training session trade later, Josh worked up the courage to pop the first question - will you go on a date with me? (He did forget to ask another important one, "what's your number?" but awkwardly asked for it later.) Josh met Amy at Winberie's, but not before taking a shot at a restaurant down the street first to calm his nerves. After a few appetizers, Josh was still hungry, and although Amy had a great time, she wasn't ready for anything serious so she left on the note, "I guess we can hang out sometime." But Josh was persistent. They continued to go on dates, including dollar burgers at Bar Louie, a haunted house in Rosemont where they had their first kiss afterwards at Toby Keith's, and many many bar crawls exploring new Chicago neighborhoods. His creativity and easy going spirit made Amy know he was the one she couldn't pass up. On January 5th, 2015, they officially became boyfriend and girlfriend. Traveling has always been a favorite past time for them, so when the opportunity came to go to Europe together, Josh knew this was the perfect time to ask the big question. He bought a ring and carried it in his sock the first 4 days of the trip waiting for the perfect moment. On the morning of April 9, 2019, they picked up some wine and snacks and made their way to Luxembourg Gardens in Paris. The sun came out and they kicked back and relaxed for the first time on their Europe trip so far. Before leaving the gardens, Josh got down on his knee and popped the BIG question, and she said YES! Now THIS was not on Amy's itinerary! Another thing that wasn't on Amy's itinerary? COVID :) We were fortunate enough to get married on our original date 7/11/2020, but we still want to celebrate with as many people as safely possible! We can't wait to throw the party we've dreamed of since we met.
