The two met at a wedding (cheesy, we know). The groom was Jessica's cousin and Alec's lifelong best friend. Somehow, with their families so close and living in the same small town at times, they had never met previously. At least that they could remember. (Jessica's parents later informed them that as little kids they had met) At the wedding Alec had been told about Jessica before her arrival and was shocked when he had finally saw her. Asking her family if that was the one they had talked about. Jessica was immediately attracted to the man she saw standing in front of her giving the best man speech. Telling her cousin next to her about how attractive he was and asking if they thought Daniel (the groom) would be mad if she was interested in him. Towards the end of the wedding Jessica's grandmother (Punky) had introduced the two. Jessica was internally screaming and instantly became awkward. Alec had made a comment about not knowing how to dance to one of those cheesy songs they always play at weddings which was currently playing to which Jessica had responded that "the song literally tells you what to do" not realizing he was trying to get her to dance with him (He says she was playing hard to get) The night progressed with more awkward encounters and exit (Jessica is REALLY awkward guys). While driving away Jessica's mom commented on how awkward she was and she realized she may have lost her chance so she decided to do what this generation does and added him on Facebook. Starting with a apology for being awkward their conversation continued and never stopped. They went on two dates before Alec had to fly back to North Carolina but that was enough for them to know that they wanted to make it work. After a few trips East for Jessica and more phone conversations than you could imagine they had somehow (we still don't know how it happened to this day) decided to get married. Alec asked for her father's blessing and they eloped on 07/05/2020.
