Our Story

Like many modern love stories, we met on Bumble. Emily messaged Adam on September 5, 2021, and just five days later, we had our first date at Gia Mia, an Italian pizza restaurant in Geneva, IL. Emily was so nervous, she tore her pizza into little pieces and barely ate a thing! After dinner, we strolled around downtown Geneva, enjoying some quality time and conversation in a more relaxed setting. A few months later, we made it official when Adam asked Emily to be his girlfriend on November 27, 2021, in his parents' driveway just before Emily met his family for the first time. Together, we enjoy meal prepping, exploring nature preserves and state parks with Adam's dog, Skye, reading side by side in coffee shops, laughing, traveling to new places, and spending time with our loved ones. Emily told Adam she wanted to date for at least two years before getting engaged, and Adam waited patiently. He bought the ring and planned to propose during our vacation in Italy. On August 19, 2024 (the second full day of our trip), Adam popped the question during a photoshoot at an overlook of the Piazza del Popolo in Rome. Emily said yes! That night, we celebrated our engagement at a pasta-making class with an Italian grandma, which was especially fitting since our first date was at an Italian restaurant, and we love cooking together. We had a wonderful trip, and enjoyed sightseeing and relaxing before returning home to celebrate with friends and family and start planning our wedding. We’re so excited to see what the Lord has in store for us and we can’t wait to celebrate with you!
