Airbnb and VRBO

There are plenty of Airbnb and VRBO rentals to choose from in Canmore. Canmore is about 20 mins from Banff and provides many more rental property options (this is because the Canadian government limits the number of rental properties inside Banff National Park). Look for places in Canmore in the following complexes: Stone Ridge, Falcon Crest, Solaris, Blackstone, and Spring Creek. Downtown Canmore is a cute little town with a number of shops and restaurants.

Calgary Airport

The closest (big) airport to Banff is Calgary, AB. Calgary Airport is about a 1 hour and 20 minute car ride from Banff and 1 hour from Canmore. You can also book a shuttle bus that will take you from the Airport to Downtown Banff or Canmore, see link below for options.

Travel Note

Banff National Park Passes

If you rent a car, you will need to purchase a park pass to get into Banff National Park. You pay by car, by day (around $20 CAD a day). You can pre-purchase your pass to avoid the line at the park entrance, however passes can be purchased once you get there. See link below to pre-purchase your park pass.
