It is important to Mark and I to share our special day with friends and loved ones. We have put together this wedding website for our guests to find all the details in one easy place. We encourage you to look through the whole site, making sure to complete the RSVP portion. Our ceremony will be outdoors with a beautiful mountainous backdrop of the Rockies, in Canmore Alberta. Reception including a delightful rustic BBQ meal, toasts and dancing is to follow at the Cornerstone Theatre. Within walking distance are many accommodation options, so please stay as long as you like. Your attendance would truly mean the world to us. All our love, Mark & Kirstyn
If you know anything about Mark, he loves photos. I myself, had to get over a little camera fear, but we decided after the holidays it would be nice to get some photos done as a couple with Jolene and the horses. So we called up a photographer, and booked our shoot for Sunday January 7, 2018. Little did I know, Mark had been planning for some time a very big surprise. After our hour and a half session, Mark casually mentioned there was one more place he wanted to take some pictures at. So Mark and I, along with Jolene of course headed behind the arena at 7T stables for a few last shots - well I thought. I realized that the path in the trees had rose petals all over it, and lit up mason jars along the edges. I looked ahead and there was a blank wooden sign lit around the edges with Edison bulbs. We walk to stand in front of the sign - and at this point I have obviously figured out that this is absolutely not just about pretty photos. Mark pulls a few pieces of paper out and begins to say a few words. The most sincere and kind loving words I've ever had the pleasure of hearing. After some happy tears started to fall and some giggles snuck out, Mark simply wrapped it all up with "So what I'm asking is . . . What are you doing for the rest of your life?" He turned the sign around and it read "will you marry me?" Mark pulled a ring box from his boot, got down on one knee and.... well I think you can figure out my answer. It was very special that our photographer captured such a special day for us. I had no idea that he had planned any of it - but I sure am glad he did.
