We’re Getting Married!

So… technically, we met at Angela’s Sweet 16. Steven was working the party, Angela was the birthday girl, and absolutely nothing magical happened. No love at first sight, no slow-motion glances across the dance floor — just two teenagers who had zero interest in each other. Fast forward a bit, and we ended up working together at Aqua Blu Kitchen & Cocktails. Still nothing. We barely spoke, weren’t friends, and existed in totally different worlds — one of us greeting guests with a smile, the other slinging cocktails and dancing behind the bar. Then we both left for college. Cut to May 2017: Angela moves back home and picks up some hostessing shifts at Aqua. During her very first daytime shift, Steven strolls in with his buddies (shoutout Matt and Webby) for a quick bite. Seems innocent, right? Until one of our coworkers decided to take matters into their own hands and slipped Steven Angela’s number without her knowing. Later that night, a random text from a 908 number shows up. Spoiler alert: it was Steven. This random little text turned into us hanging out all the time that summer. Now, Angela will be the first to admit — she was kind of a brat that summer. (Her words. But everyone else definitely agrees.) But Steven was an absolute gem and stuck around. Eventually, the summer ended, Steven went back to Stockton, and we decided to go our separate ways like mature adults. (Just kidding, we ghosted each other and called it growth.) A few months later, Angela was moving out of her family home and trying to carry 700 boxes with her mom before finally snapping and saying, “Okay FINE, let me see if Steve will come help us.” He did. And from that day on, things changed. Like, really changed. We officially became a couple on January 28, 2018 — the night of the Aqua Blu Christmas party, because obviously our relationship needed to come full circle at the place we once ignored each other. Since then, we’ve spent six amazing years finishing college together, dealing with the chaos of restaurant life, attending our closest friends and families weddings, vacationing, buying a house, switching jobs, taking too many NYC trips, celebrating our shared birthday (yes, really), and bringing home our perfect little pup, Scout. It’s been a wild, wonderful ride so far — and we’re just getting started. We can’t wait to celebrate this next chapter with all of you!
