Our love story began long before we truly understood what love was. We first met as kids through youth ministry at Rock Island Missionary Baptist Church in Port Arthur, Texas. What started as a youthful connection became a brief teenage romance, but after Jharell graduated high school, we went our separate ways, believing that season had ended. Years later, right before the pandemic in 2020, we reconnected as adults and it felt as though no time had passed at all. Even after not truly talking since 2009, our conversations picked up effortlessly, as if he had never left. With his signature confidence, Jharell made his intentions clear by saying, “I am single, and I know you’re definitely single, so we go together.” That moment marked the beginning of something special. As adults, our connection deepened quickly. I was drawn not only to how handsome he is, but also to his dark sense of humor, his heart, and the way he understood me so naturally. Though our journey included challenges such as timing, children, and life changes, each obstacle strengthened our bond and reaffirmed what we were building together. Our love grew beyond just the two of us. We were blessed with two incredible sons, Mason and Quincy, whose bond as brothers has brought even more joy, unity, and purpose to our lives. Watching our family come together has been one of the greatest confirmations that this love was guided by God. We believe our story was written long before we ever understood it. God allowed us to grow separately so that we could return stronger, wiser, and ready. As we begin this new chapter, we do so with grateful hearts, trusting God’s timing and committing to lead our family with faith, love, and purpose.
