John and Amanda met when they were around 7 and 9 years old. Amanda’s parents and John’s grandparents had been neighbors since 1987, and John and Amanda both attended Holy Family Elementary School. During the summer, Amanda and her sister Ashley would play wall ball, army, and box baseball with John and his three brothers at their grandparents’ house. In July 2014, Amanda and her mom had just returned from the grocery store and John and one of his brothers, Josh were across the street cleaning one of the neighbors’ cars. John and Amanda waved to each other and John and his brother walked across the street to talk to Amanda, and Amanda’s mom suggested that Amanda reach out to John because “he was very cute and polite.” Amanda Facebook messaged John (LOL), they went to Merrymead Farm for ice cream, and then Amanda’s family ran into John’s family at the Collegeville Diner. Not long after, Amanda and John went out to dinner, had a “concert” on Paisley Beach at Ursinus College in the beginning of January, drove John’s Pontiac GTO through Montgomery County, and the rest is history!
