When I was a sophomore in high school, my good friend Faith (and Tyler's cousin) jokingly gave my number to him. We had met years before when we were young at someone's birthday party while they were in town from Alabama (neither of us remembered, of course). About 6 months after Faith gave him my number he came to Texas to visit his family. We hung out a little bit and decided we were going to date long distance (silly, you might say). Perhaps we were just dumb kids at the time, but I think deep down we knew it could be something special. By the summer of 2013 my parents knew all about Tyler. We planned a family vacation in Orange Beach, Alabama, and much to my surprise, my mom suggested that Tyler meet us down there. Tyler got to officially meet my parents and we got to hang out a lot. I like to think that was when we knew we were the perfect fit for each other. The October after Tyler graduated high school, while I was still a senior, Tyler told me he was moving to Texas. My initial reaction was, "Oh snap, now I have to marry this boy." In reality, that was really the best thing to ever happen for us. We have now been together for about 8 years, and neither of us would change the journey it took to get here.
