The One Where Sierra and Toby Get Married

We don’t have a super cute or romantic story, but it is ours and it is special. We met on a dating website and we matched. We FaceTimed for quite some time before we went on our first date. The first thing I ever said to him was, “Don’t be nervous.” The date went wonderfully. Fast forward a few weeks to July 4, 2017 and he asked me to be his girlfriend.

We stopped in St. Louis on our way to his hometown of Villa Grove, IL to see his family for the holidays. After we got settled into our hotel, we went to the St. Louis Zoo to see the zoo lights. Afterwards, we went to go see the Botanical Garden lights. Little did we know, the Botanical Garden lights were separated into shows and we just missed one show, and the next one was sold out. So we had to decide if we wanted to wait an hour and a half for the next show, or find something new to do. We decided to adapt and find something new. Unbeknownst to me, he was internally freaking out because we had to change the plans that he had to propose! He almost didn’t do it. But we found something new (and free). We decided to go see the lights at the Anheuser-Busch Brewery! We ended up having such a great night. As we were leaving, he said he wanted a picture. I gave a guy my phone to take pictures and Toby gave the guy his phone too and whispered to him that he was going to propose and asked him to video. I thought that he wanted pictures on his phone and I was thinking that I could just send them to him? But I didn’t argue. He said he had a question for me and I didn’t react because we were taking a picture! He could wait! Then he got down on one knee, I started crying, then I had to remind myself to say, “Yes”, haha.
