A must go place for anyone who is staying in McKinney. I suggest finding a place to go to brunch on Saturday before the wedding, followed by a walk along the square to peek in all the boutiques.
When we both lived in the heart of Dallas, this was our favorite weekend activity! Enjoy a bite to eat and grab a beer! Then have a walk along the Katy Trail, a very popular walking trail in Dallas. You can easily rent bikes and scooters along the trail.
This is another one of our favorite parks/hangout areas. Plenty of food trucks and activities to do! They typically do free workout classes most Saturday mornings. The coolest part is that this is a park built on top of a highway! Its right in the center of Dallas, and close the the Aquarium and Perot Museum to complete your afternoon before the wedding.
If your traveling and want to have a thrill, Six Flag's would be a great option!
For any of our guests traveling from out of state, or those would just like a true Texas experience, The Fort Worth stockyards are the place to be! If you will be here Friday night, I recommend you enjoy some food at Joe T. Garcia's (my FAVORITE Mexican restaurant) then take a walk around and make your way to Billy Bob's for some Texas two stepping fun! Iconic, huge country music honky-tonk with an indoor rodeo arena, mechanical bulls & dozens of bars. Yes, you will see people wearing cowboy hats and boots.
Sierra's personal favorite shopping area is Southlake Town Square! It is an outdoor shopping mall, so be prepared for that Texas heat! All of best stores like Nordstrom Rack, Sephora, Boutiques, Food, Lululemon, and MORE! A shoppers dream!
If you haven't been to a Top Golf yet, I highly recommend! It is so fun!
McKinney has one of the oldest thriving historic downtowns in Texas. The downtown commercial district offers more than 120 unique shops and over two dozen restaurants. Art galleries, furniture stores, antique, gift and home décor shops and apparel boutiques offer treasures for your shopping pleasure.
This is the area where we actually live! When it comes to things to see and do in Grapevine, the list is Texas-sized. There's shopping, dining, wineries, museums, nightlife, sports, spas and outdoor adventures.
Inspired by the flavors of Texas, this Uptown restaurant/bar plates an elevated menu of Southern-inspired fare, with an eye toward seasonal and local ingredients and frequent use of the kitchen's smoker. The country music's always on, including live performances on the indoor stage that overlooks the expansive dining room or the outdoor stage facing a sprawling patio.
Some of our favorite casual drinking spots! Check out the Truck Yard, or HG Supply's rooftop bar (where we first met!). This area is a favorite to take people who visit us in Dallas. Lots to do and very walking friendly!
With over 235 unique retailers, restaurants and legendary department stores, NorthPark Center offers an unparalleled luxury shopping experience. Don't shop til you drop because we need you on the dance floor.
This lively area is a hipster haven. Deep Ellum is known for its vibrant street murals. Here you will find tons of public art, live music venues (mostly at night), shops, brewpubs, cocktail bars, and Tex-Mex eateries. Hit up Pecan Lodge if you want some Texas barbecue! Get there early as there will always be a line for the best BBQ in Dallas!
Little shops and lots of food! stop by and get a quiche, breakfast taco, or specialty coffee for breakfast! This is more than just a typical farmers market! It is a whole experience! One of Sierra's top favorite things to do in Dallas!
