We're getting married!

When you ask most people how they met these days, the majority will say online or a dating app. When you ask the Haight kids, the majority will say "playing volleyball." After moving to Boise, Sierra missed her Seattle summers playing volleyball. She joined a co-ed intramural team, where she met Justin. After meeting at the first game of the season, Justin was subtly trying to determine if Sierra was single. He decided to wait until the end of their volleyball season to ask her out on a date. That plan lasted a week when he decided to bite the bullet and ask her out—they went on their last first date a week later on January 14, 2023.

On the morning of December 9, 2024, Justin and Sierra were carpooling to work. Only about two minutes away from their home, they were about to make a turn when they were struck by a driver running a red light. After dealing with the aftermath of the accident, they decided they should head to urgent care. As they got ready to go, Sierra came around the corner to find Justin zoning out. She was concerned that something was wrong, but instead Justin got down on one knee and asked if she would marry him.
