Walk around the historic square, browse locally owned boutiques and antique stores, and stop by one of the cozy cafés or restaurants. It's a great place to spend a relaxing afternoon.
Fort Mountain State Park
This park offers scenic hiking trails, overlooks with incredible mountain views, a peaceful lake, and picnic areas. It's a great destination for anyone who loves the outdoors.
Cartecay River/Coosawattee River
During the warmer months, tubing, kayaking, and fishing are popular ways to enjoy the rivers that run through the area.
Blue Ridge
It's one of North Georgia's most popular mountain towns because it has a great mix of outdoor recreation, shopping, and great food. There you can ride the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway, explore downtown, and visit Mercier Orchards.
Hillcrest Orchards
Unfortunately, apple picking is not in season. But Ellijay is known as Georgia's Apple Capital, and you can still enjoy fresh cider, homemade apple cider doughnuts, and browse farm markets.
Go Wine Tasting
The area is home to several wineries with beautiful mountain views, making it a perfect stop for an afternoon of wine tasting and relaxing. While the wedding will be at a winery, we recommend checking out all the different ones!
