During the fall semester of 2010 is when Emmanuel and I met. It was in the band room of THEE (because if you don’t say thee, your school isn’t official) Fort Valley State University Blue Machine Marching Band where I (Sierra) was impressed on how Emmanuel held himself and, overall, his voice. There was something about him that left a mark. We both eventually left Fort Valley and went down different paths. I thought that he and I were never going to meet or be together again. However, God always had our union in his plans, so things had to come back together. Somehow, there was an overwhelming feeling to go back to Fort Valley from the both of us. Fast forward to 2016, we began to fall in love with each other- all over again. We started attending church together, praying more, and building a better relationship with God while making sure we did not forget the courtship. After a while, our love became natural. My family began asking questions regarding marriage and if I was ready. My statement had never changed, “Love is easy when it involves your bestfriend.” I couldnt have picked a better partner to ride with. On June 28, 2018, at my favorite restaurant, the Cheesecake Factory, we had dinner with some of our family and friends. During the dinner I was just happy that our families were finally meeting each other. Initially, i did not notice what was happening. I just saw my family getting up and taking their phones out. I was like, “Whats going on!?!” I look down and written in chocolate surrounding my favorite cheesecake (red velvet) was the question, “Will you Marry Me?” BIG UGLY CRY!!!!! If he could ever surprise me, not telling me about his plans is the best way to do it. Apparently, he and our family had been planning the engagement the whole year of 2017 and I had no idea. Now, here we are at the threshold of marriage. We are about to began a whole different journey and we are happy to share it with our people. LET’S GO!!!!!
