We first met in 2014 down at an event during the us open of surfing where Conner was competing and Sierra was working for a skateboard company. We hit it off instantly and spent the whole night talking at the Shorebreak hotel lobby bar. We connected on many things but mostly over our close ties to our families, Italian roots, and love for travel and adventure. After a few days she went home and told her grandmother that she met someone special who she could see marrying. This came as quite a surprise to Sandra, as she knew Sierra did not fall easily. Conner knew he had met someone special and convinced her to fly out to visit in California and Hawaii where they got to know each other better. Although we both were falling for each other, Sierra was living in her home town of Tampa helping her grandparents and working while Conner was chasing his dream of qualifying for the Championship tour. After some tough conversations, we went our separate ways but often kept in touch. Over the years we would meet up when our paths crossed. From the first time Sierra came to California on a solo adventure when she was 18 she knew she wanted to live in California, but her love for her family kept her in Tampa. When her grandpa Joe finally convinced her to move, she drove her jeep across the country and moved to LA in January of 2019. Not long after she moved, we were driving between Santa Barbara and LA to visit each other. Although we hadn’t spent much time together for a couple of years, we picked up right where we left off. At the outbreak of Covid, Sierra’s grandfather Joseph, who she was very close to, fell ill. We decided it was time to drive out to Florida so that Conner could meet him and her whole family. We had a really nice visit with everyone and Conner got to spend some nice time with Sierra’s family. Although they miss Sierra dearly, they are happy that she’s happy with Conner. Sadly Joseph passed away a few months later but left Conner a letter saying how grateful he was that Sierra found such a good man. When the WSL tour started during covid, Conner took Sierra to Australia. Because of the zero covid policy, we had to quarantine for 2 weeks in a hotel room without leaving the room. After we passed this test with flying colors, we knew we got along really well and Conner asked Sierra to move in with him in Carpinteria. This came with one condition, that Sierra was a package deal with her dog “Finley.” During covid we also adopted 2 feral cats, Ayasha and Coco to help patrol the garden, but we soon domesticated them and fell in love. Conner went from never having a pet to having 3 :). We had the best trip in Australia and Conner’s Australian friends and family welcomed Sierra with open arms. Sierra’s positivity and support on tour through a challenging year helped Conner to qualify for the Final 5 event at Lower trestles. Surrounded by friends and family, he achieved his life long goal of finishing 4th in the world. After a year of amazing adventures and experiencing Sierra’s love, support, and positive mindset through Conner’s competitions it became very clear that we made a really great team that could tackle life together. Conner planned to propose to Sierra a few months later in his favorite city of Florence on our way to a Coffin family vacation in Italy. We couldn’t be more excited to share our wedding day with our family and close friends here in Santa Barbara in Conner’s Grandparents’ backyard. It is a place that is very special to us as Conner grew up here since he was 4 surrounded by family and nature.
