Caleb and Sierra met in 2004 when they were too young to remember all the details. They vaguely remember fighting over who got to sit in the big recliner chair and wandering through China Town in San Francisco with their families. You see, Caleb’s father, Rob, and Sierra’s father, Vincas, were childhood best friends. Rob and Vincas met in Cheney, WA when they were about four years old. They went to school together all the way from elementary school up to Eastern Washington University, and were even roommates in Seattle for a short time. Rob was the one who actually introduced Sierra’s parents. However, as life will have it, Rob and Vincas ended up across the country from one another and became long-distance friends. Sierra grew up in Gainesville, GA all her life. Caleb grew up in Dublin, CA until he was 11, and then he moved to Spokane, WA. Sierra and Caleb first met when Sierra’s family flew out to San Francisco, CA to spend a week with Caleb’s family. Sierra was 9 and Caleb was 7 – they were instant best friends. However, after that week, Sierra and Caleb did not see each other again for about 4 years. Growing up, Sierra flew out to Spokane every summer with her family to visit her grandparents in Washington. The year Caleb’s family moved to Spokane, WA, Sierra and Caleb reconnected. They once again hit it off. They would see each other every summer until Sierra turned 17 and went off to college. At 13, Sierra realized that she had a crush on Caleb. She vividly remembers getting lectured by her father in the car driving away from Caleb’s house about how Caleb was “off limits,” so she spent the next 8 years of her life trying to NOT fall in love with him. Little did she know, Caleb was receiving the same lecture from his dad at home. In 2015, Sierra moved up to Spokane, WA to be closer to her family (who now all lived there). Sierra and Caleb began to spend more time together and their friendship deepened. By summer of 2017, they were dating and deeply in love.
