I had heard about Sierra for a couple years before we actually met. Our sisters were close friends and they always wanted us to get together. I was still in my single days and Sierra didn't live in San Francisco, so I didn't take this idea too seriously. Then, Sierra moved to San Francisco in 2016 and serendipitously found a roommate named Emily Ashby, one of my best friends who conveniently lived just a block away. She quickly was a part of my friend group and we became super close. Instantly hanging out every weekend, grabbing dinners, in groups and then... just us. It became pretty clear to me that this girl wasn't just a "friend"... maybe my sister was right? We decided to book a trip to Hawaii, just the two of us as "friends," everyone knew what was coming... And the rest was history. It took me another month or so to convince Sierra to take me seriously, but once I did we never looked back!
After months of planning what I thought was going to be Alec's 30th birthday party, we headed to my old stomping grounds, and favorite spot growing up, Sam's Anchor Cafe in Tiburon to celebrate Alec's big day. When Alec's sister dragged us to the waterside to "take photos." I turned to fix my hair, looked back, and he was down on one knee. I screamed, shouted "YES" and we were engaged! Turns out I had been planning my own engagement the whole time! It was a night of partying with all of our friends and family. We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you all.
