DELAY THE DATE

(sometimes you just have to roll with it)

We can’t wait to celebrate on our new date with our closest friends and family on our new date! Please RSVP by July 31st

Finally!

Shortly after our seven year anniversary, Evan told me he wanted to go shopping for a “rock.” He said he wanted me to pick out the ring I was going to wear for the rest of my life! Knowing how particular I can be, I’m forever grateful he let me! Together, we found the ring that I think is worthy of every Pinterest board! But, let me tell you that he made me wait, for what felt like a lifetime, for that proposal. Several moments came and went over the next 8 months that had me thinking, “THIS IS IT! He is going to ask!!” Those moments came and went. Eventually I got to a point where I decided I would patiently (and sometimes not so patiently) wait for him to ask on his own terms. Fast forward to June 10th 2019. Evan had suggested taking our two dogs to our favorite park for a walk. Something we do often, so it was nothing out of the ordinary. It is so quiet and filled with trees. A great escape from reality. Evan was carrying the backpack with a bowl and water bottle for the dogs. He stopped at one point and told me he was going to get the girls a drink of water. As my back was turned to him, I took in the scenery and the beautiful weather we had that day. When I checked back into reality, I turned around, and found Evan on one knee! “Will you marry me?” I was SO surprised. Genuinely shocked. I still can’t believe he caught me so off guard. So off guard in fact, that my first thing out my mouth as a more colorful phrase than most would usually expect. I may or may not have told him to, “Shut the *beep* up.” We laughed as I told him, “Yes!! Of course!” It will forever go down as one of my favorite days. My favorite person, in my favorite place, with my favorite pups!
