Question

Are there bugs?

Answer

YES! SO MANY BUGS! Tarantula Hawk wasps, with their vibrant orange wings and powerful stings, are not your average garden variety wasps—they're known for hunting and paralyzing tarantulas to serve as living hosts for their eggs. (You will need to go to urgent care if stung) While Tarantula Hawk wasps dominate the skies, the terrestrial realm is home to its own eight-legged inhabitants—tarantulas. These giant and hairy arachnids are peaceful, but it's best to stay clear of their path. (Just don't pick it up) Scorpions! These desert dwellers have a knack for seeking out cozy spots like beds, boots, and doorways, adding an extra element of surprise to your everyday encounters. Keep an eye out for these nocturnal arachnids as they navigate the shadows, making every step an adventurous dance in the mysterious desert landscape. (the sting and swell will hurt but you won't die) Meet the Velvet Ant, a captivating creature that defies its name as it's not an ant but a wingless wasp. Adorned in striking colors and a velvety fuzz, these insects are known for their potent sting, earning them the nickname "cow killers." (the sting and swell will hurt and you will not be able to dance at the wedding) On a lighter note, dragonflies and damselflies form a mesmerizing aerial ballet, showcasing the area's rich biodiversity. With iridescent wings and graceful flight patterns, these enchanting insects contribute to the unique charm of the desert landscape. Roswell boasts an impressive array of dragonfly and damselfly species, making it a haven for these delightful creatures. Also keep and eye out for vinegaroons, centipedes, and large ants.
