We met freshman year at lunch and became fast friends. Despite never having a class together we managed to always stay friends and keep in touch. Siena got her first job at McDonalds and convinced Mario to come work with her. This was one of the best decisions Mario could have made because it led to many fun times and a deeper relationship. They both stayed connected after high school and eventually began dating in the summer of 2021.
Siena came to visit me for my birthday in Texas. We have been together for some time and have discussed marriage in the past. I knew I wanted to marry her. For weeks I set up a plan to get a ring and then look around for creative ways and places to purpose to her. I remembered she’s very into plants and gardening so I looked into the Dallas arboretum and botanical garden. I got some tickets to the garden and planned a whole day of memories with her. The gardens would take up all of the morning and most of the evening, we went back to her uncles house and hung out with the family. Later that night we left to a surprise location I hadn’t told her about. A few weeks prior I had purchased the deluxe package to the Dallas reunion tower. We got to the tower and had a private elevator and tour guide, Siena was shocked! We hung out at the top of the tower, read the informational slides, and talked about how much fun the day had been. We then went outside and watched the city lights and all of the historic views with it. I was very nervous but tried to keep the conversation going to distract from how nervous I was. I directed the conversation towards our future and at that moment I asked her how she feels about us and the long journey we’d have ahead of us. She knew what she signed up for and with her always knowing what to say and how to answer anything I ask her, I knew it was time. As she’s watching the city view I kept talking as I got down on one knee and asked if Siena Anderson would marry me and be with me forever.
