Sidney doesn't like to tell people we met on Tinder. Yet here we are trying to pull together an audience for holy matrimony, filling in the fields of this handy website that basically walks you through every imaginable thing you would need for a wedding, and landing on the completely expected question of how we met. We can't kick things off with a lie. This rendition is written by Matt and approved by Sidney. It's subject to change depending on who we're talking to and what we decide to tell them; grandkids or anyone else. The version for this character limit and audience includes dinner at Mama Roja's and a few margaritas. I pulled into the parking lot and got out of my car just as she was pulling into the parking lot. I recognized her from her pictures. She was lovely, but I was left with the difficult decision of acting like I don't recognize her and going on in to wait inside, or waiting for her beside her car? Always acting in the foresight that my mother could hear about my behavior on a matter such as that, I stood and waited behind the car. Well, she had not seen me when she pulled in and my standing there caught her by surprise. Despite that awkwardness, conversation recovered and we had a good time together. When Sidney is forced into a situation of talking about how we met, she likes to tell people that she thought I was ghosting her afterward because I didn't call her back for a few days. For those of you not in-the-know, ghosting is a term for disappearing after going on a date with someone. Of course, it was all part of my plan to avoid looking desperate. She was pretty, funny, and had interesting hobbies that were new to me and fun to hear her talk about. I didn't want to screw it up. I called back and for some reason she kept answering. Now, here we are. So, there it is; the honest truth for you, the good witnesses of our marriage. Again, we'll pick what we tell others, but we wanted you to know the truth!
