Prior to meeting each other we were both at a place in our life where we were ok being single. We both felt happy just being by ourselves in our walk with God. Ironic huh? Neither of us were meeting people in our every day lives and so decided to give online dating a try. Lots of swiping and dead end conversations later, we found each other and things kicked off for us right away. We both were involved in music ministry, enjoyed nerdy movies, grew up in households with very similar standards... along with many other things we learned about each other. After close to 2 or 3 weeks of talking, and turning Kyle down the first time he tried to make us official, Sidney FINALLY gave in and we became boyfriend and girlfriend. Since we were long distance, we made it a priority to call, text, or FaceTime each other on a daily basis. We also made it a priority to see each other in person at least once every month. From the start, we both knew that marriage was the current goal... we weren't in this relationship just to have fun, we were both ready for commitment and that became more evident the longer we were together. After visiting Iowa and getting the blessing from Sidney's dad, we decided together that we didn't need to prolong the inevitable or as some would say, "torture"😂. We also learned soon after coming back from Iowa that both of us needed to be out of our current living situations by the end of May... we prayed and felt peace about moving our timeline of marriage to a lot faster than either of us ever thought. From the beginning of our relationship, very little has been done according to "tradition"... we've very much done things with lots of prayer and wisdom from people close to us. Many things leading up to this point have not been easy, and yet we choose to face them together and allow God to guide our path... even when nothing makes sense. It's been one heck of a whirlwind, but we're here... mostly in one piece😉and ready to start this momentous chapter of our lives!
