Our story is a fun one! We met online early in the year 2011 and became fast friends. After a few weeks it was obvious that we had a crush on each other and we finally started officially dating on July 6th of that year. After hundreds of Skype dates and countless phone calls Brendan bought a plane ticket to visit California for the first time! His parents decided to make the trip as well and the first time we met in person our whole families were present. Hah, no pressure right?! Somehow Brendan and I were just so excited to see each other that the potential awkwardness of the situation didn't dawn on us until years later.
After that first trip we traveled back and forth across the country every 3 or 4 months for the next 3 years. It was during this time that Brendan's family became mine and my family became his. Without the support of our amazing community of friends and family our relationship really would not have been possible and even though it was really challenging we look back at that time with such gratitude.
In 2014 I graduated High School and was accepted into the school I had wanted to attend since I was a little girl... Parsons! I lived in the dorms for a year and then moved to Long Island while Brendan finished up classes at Suffolk College. Commuting was tough, but yet again the support of our families made it all possible!
In 2016 we moved into Pat and Pam's apartment in Brooklyn after they so generously proposed sharing the space with us. Those were some of the best days of our lives getting to live with our best friends and siblings. We now actually live in that same apartment ( though it has changed a bunch since those days) and Pat and Pam are in an apartment right downstairs! It is so funny how life works out.
After nearly 7 years, 3 apartments, 2 cats and countless more good times, on February 13th at Hillstones, our favorite restaurant, Brendan asked me to marry him. I was so excited that I could not even eat the brownie we ordered in celebration! For those of you who aren't familiar with my devotion to dessert... that is a big deal! All joking aside, this very long story has led us to this point. We are so incredibly in love and aware of the pure luck that brought us to this moment! Brendan and I cant wait to get married in September and celebrate all of it with you!
