We're Getting Married!

Our journey together began on April 9, 2019, when Aidan was 15 and Sidney was 14. Our very first date was running a concession stand at Erica’s gymnastics meet with Sidney’s family (so romantic, right?) It didn’t take long before we became inseparable. During our freshman year of high school, we had every class together and spent most of our time laughing in the back of the classroom, and hanging out in the hallways after school. (sorry, teachers!). Throughout high school, we made so many unforgettable memories together. We both competed on the swim and dive team, and Sidney even managed the boys' team (totally not just an excuse to spend more time together 😉). Our senior year, we had the honor of being crowned Homecoming King and Queen! We also spent three years working side by side at a wood-fired pizza kitchen, which only fueled our love for food. Now, we still love cooking together and discovering fun new recipes (and eating them) . After high school, we both chose to continue our education at the University of Minnesota, where Sidney studied Graphic Design and User Experience, and Aidan is pursuing a degree in Biomedical Engineering. Over the past few years, we've grown not only as a couple but also in our faith, finding joy in attending Bible studies and campus ministry events together. Our faith had also led us to serve on mission trips, including one to Toulouse, France, where we shared our faith internationally, and another to Florida, where we served communities in need. These experiences have been incredibly meaningful to us, strengthening our relationship and our commitment to living out our faith. Outside of school, we love spending time outdoors whether it’s fishing, camping, having bonfires, or spending time on the lake. We also love music and are always sharing new artists and songs with each other. In the summers, you can usually find us playing Spikeball, bags, or pickleball, and in the winters, we're likely cozying up on the couch watching Dexter or Schitt’s Creek. Our love story started long before we even realized it. Fun fact: We were in the same preschool class and even stood next to each other at our preschool graduation. Years later, we stood side by side again for our high school graduation, and now we’ll do the same for college graduation and, of course, our wedding day. On June 5th, Sidney’s birthday, Aidan proposed at a scenic overlook in Glenwood with a breathtaking view of Lake Minnewaska. Sidney hesitated for a moment… but after a little convincing she said yes! (Just kidding, she said yes before Aidan could even finish asking.) After more than six years together, we couldn’t be more excited to take this next step and start our life as husband and wife. It’s surreal to think about how our younger selves used to dream about "one day" getting married and now that day is actually happening. We feel so blessed to have grown up together while also growing in our love for each other and the Lord. We cannot wait to celebrate our love with all of you and are beyond grateful to have such amazing family and friends supporting us. See you on the big day!
