Jillian and Jared met through their mutual friends, Samantha and AJ Sherman. About one year after they met, Jared and Jillian went on their first date. In March 2020, they ended up quarantined together after attending an out of state wedding and started looking at homes to call their own. A few months later, the two purchased their first home, and in March 2021, they got engaged.

Jillian's parents, Jim and Judy, came over for the weekend under the guise that they were going to help with some things around the house. Judy successfully tricked Jillian into thinking she wanted to have some alone (mom-daughter) time. On Saturday (3.6.2021), Jillian and Judy went to brunch on the beach, and then to the mall to do some shopping for an upcoming wedding (shout out to the Rosenbergers!). Judy played along the entire day, trying on the numerous outfits that Jillian insisted she try, which Judy normally would have refused. After the mall, the plan was to run into the house, change shoes and run back out to get groceries for dinner. However, when Jillian walked into the house, Jared was standing in their living room surrounded by flowers and candles. Completely caught off guard, Jillian exclaimed, "What are you doing?" which (unfortunately) was caught on video. After Jillian said yes, she learned that their families and their close friends were hiding in the dining area behind the closed doors. All in all, it was the best day ever ... well, to date. They intend on topping that day on March 5th with you all!
