FAQs

Question

Are kids welcome at the wedding?

Answer

While we adore your children, we want to give you a night off from parenting! The rehearsal dinner and the wedding are for adults only. If you are traveling to Kansas City with your children, please reach out to Stacey Welch (Mother of the Bride) to get information on childcare for the night of the wedding!

Question

May I bring a plus one?

Answer

Invited guests are listed on the envelope of the "save the date" and formal wedding invitation. Anyone given a plus one has it clearly marked. Due to limited capacity at our venue only guests listed on the envelope may attend the wedding.

Question

Is there a dress code for the wedding?

Answer

The wedding is black tie optional attire. We want you to dress up with us! The theme of our wedding is "garden party" which encompasses colorful florals, pastels, and vibrant summer colors. We would love for all of our guests to dress within our theme. Formal wear for women may include a floor length or midi length dress. Formal wear for men would include a jacket and tie, traditional suit, or a tuxedo. Please no jeans or sneakers. We ask that guest avoid wearing any colors reserved for the bride: cream, ivory, or white. We cannot wait to see everyone's colorful outfits.

Question

Is there parking at Hawthorne House?

Answer

There is plenty of parking on site at the venue, however we strongly encourage guests who will be drinking to uber to and from the wedding.

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

Please arrive by 4:45pm at the latest as the ceremony will start promptly at 5:00pm. Late guests will not be allowed entry into the ceremony and will have to wait to join the party at cocktail hour.
