We're getting married!

Thaoly and Sid met in 2018 on a warm summer evening at a French restaurant in Laguna Beach, California. Fortunately, one date turned to two, and they met again. And again. Until the sweet summer romance turned into a long distance one, when Sid had to return to North Carolina to finish school. They spent the next few years navigating distance, culture, and time zones that never seem to cooperate. Their nights were spent on calls that covered everything from daily mundane updates to very serious debates about who's going to fall asleep first. Visits were planned with military precision, mapping out the next time they'd be in the same place. Over time, Sid began slowly migrating west, moving through the United States, inching closer to California and to Thaoly. Finally, in June of 2023, after what felt like an unnecessarily long test of commitment, Sid finally got a job in California and moved. Somehow through distance, cultural differences, and sheer stubbornness, it all worked out. A true testament of their commitment and steadfastness. So... now there's a wedding!
