We first met after Will had been our pest control guy for a couple of years. I worked graveyard shift and didn't meet Will for about two years, however Keira and Sienna became fast friends with him when he would come to spray. I had a crush on Will after meeting him and would often talk to my friend, Jen Giles, about it. We were both seeing other people, so it was just a silly crush at that point. We had both gotten out of our previous relationships by the time my 40th birthday came around. Jen realized that my "bug guy Will" and her roommate from long in the past were one and the same! Jen invited him to my 40th birthday party. It took several more months of seeing each other infrequently before we started dating more often. It still took many more months of back and forth before we became serious. Fast forward six years and we have been living together for 3 years now as a family. That is how "SWILLY" came to be. We combined Sicily and Will into Swilly- it made referencing our unique family fun and even became the name of our family ride (Polaris Rzr). One night while camping in Pahrump, NV, we were sitting around the table with our good friends, The Perkins. Will talked about how he sees them as family and we have shared many special moments together and how it was time to make our family "official". I looked at him and he was holding an (extremely stunning) ring in his hand and asked if I would marry him. Somewhere in my shock, I was able to say "yes". Will then turned to Sienna and Keira and gave them each a ring while asking if they too would accept him in their family. It was beautiful and amazing. Like all great tales, there have been great parts and the not so great parts. Through our faith and our belief in our family we have always persevered. We are the epitome of opposites attract. Will is the definition of Extrovert... he is talkative (very very talkative), outgoing, quick to react with his emotions on his sleeve. He balances out my introvert... quiet, likes to sit back and observe, with waaaaay too much thinking and that one emotion I have left (okay maybe two). It works for Swilly Family.
We have never done anything the traditional way and figured why start now. Halloween has always been one of my favorite holidays. Will really enjoys all things scary and non-traditional. With that in mind, our reception is going to be straight up Swilly Style! Full costumes will be required for everyone coming to our reception. Full costume you ask... meaning no glasses and a fake mustache, we want to see you all decked out in your costume. You can be scary, funny, holy, sweet- we don't care as long as you are dressed up! Everyone must be in a costume to attend. We know our friends and family have busy lives and are keeping it open house style to come and go as you please, we just want to see everyone and have a fun time celebrating. Tacos, Tacos, Tacos....let there always be tacos! We will have tacos (and Dr. Pepper) two must haves in our lives. You can indulge in the candy buffet, dessert bar, alcohol and drinks. Get your groove on whatever your flavor is. We are including some traditional wedding stuff and some not. You will have to come and see for yourself.
