FAQ/What to bring

Please carefully read through
Question

What to wear

Answer

The wedding will be an outdoor classic Idaho wedding. Please bring western formal clothing for the wedding. Ex: Cowboy boots, nice button up shirts, bolo ties, dresses, cowboy hats, or whatever makes you feel confident and classy. The wedding will take place in a grassy area, so high heels are not recommended.

Question

Am I going to have to camp?

Answer

You are more than welcome to camp if that is how you most comfortably enjoy the beautiful outdoors of the Sawtooth area. Onsite camping will be provided so don't worry about finding a camping spot. If you visit the website linked in the TRAVEL tab you can see an overview of the cabins. YOU WILL NEED TO BRING YOUR OWN BEDDING regardless of if you are camping or not. No linens are provided. It might be cold at night so pack some blankets, sheets/sleeping bag, blankets and pillows.

Question

What do I need to bring?

Answer

-WATER BOTTLES -Bedding (pillows, sleepingbag/blankets) -Towels (for indoor shower use as well as outdoor water play) -Clothes (wedding attire as well as semi-outdoor casual attire) -Something warm(It can get chilly at night) -Toiletries (there are bathrooms w/ showers for all guests including campers to use) -Swimming suits (especially if you are planning on rafting, there is also a waterslide) -Chargers for phone -Sunscreen/Bug Spray

Question

Will I have cell-phone service?

Answer

Cell phone service is incredibly spotty in the area that we will be in. The ranch that we are staying on does have wifi and electricity but we recommend programming your map before you lose signal as well as downloading any music/podcasts you wish to enjoy for the ride over. The SAWMILL STATION (gas station) nearby (about 1 mile away) will have cell service. We will have a big sign telling you where to turn so that nobody misses the exit (for more information about how to get there please visit the TRAVEL tab)

Question

Can I bring my dog?

Answer

The May Family Ranch has a policy that we need to tell them in advance if any dogs will be attending. It is a $10 fee per dog. If you CAN find a sitter for your dog it is definitely encouraged. If you really wish to bring your dog all of these need to apply: A) My dog cannot be left home B) My dog is well-behaved with other dogs as well as the local cats that live on the property C) I am willing to contact the bride about it in advance and pay the $10 fee If all of these things apply then I am more than happy to help you workout bringing your dog to join us!

Question

What to bring for extra outdoor recreation

Answer

-LIFE JACKETS: we really need life jackets for the floating trip. If you have any please bring them, if you have extra PLEASE bring them. -Fishing Poles are welcome! There will be time to fish the day before the wedding and the day after. I would really appreciate if you didn't do any fishing the day of the wedding because I want everyones clothes to look nice in the pictures at the wedding as well as the reception afterwards. *Fishing will also require a current Idaho fishing license. -Other than that there is a ton of on site games and entertainment provided by the May Family Ranch so don't worry about being bored.

Question

How difficult is this Rafting Trip going to be?/Am I going to die?

Answer

We will be floating from Torrey's to the Squaw Creek Bridge. The rafting trip will be a 2 hour semi-beginner friendly float. The part of the river that we will be going on is NOT white water. I would describe it as a little more difficult than the Boise River. We have 3 rafts(and are willing to rent more if more people wish to join!). Each raft has a capacity for 7 people and a cooler. We will have designated ship captain for each raft that has experience commanding a raft. (If you have rafting experience please contact the bride) You will have to listen to them and they will keep you safe. Each and every person will be REQUIRED TO WEAR A LIFE JACKET! *If moving water scares you or you have a condition that might advise against going I wouldn't recommend it, but if you are just inexperience and just not too sure I really recommend checking it out because it is a ton of fun and super beautiful! Also if you have your own personal kayak or other personal river floatation device with paddles, you are more than welcome to bring it! (The life jacket rule will still apply)

Question

Will food be provided?

Answer

Food and filtered water will be provided. Please contact the bride if you have any special dietary restrictions.

For all the days along the way
