We met the modern way on Tinder while we were both in college up in the U.P. What started as a swipe turned into something pretty great. We spent countless hours texting, joking, and getting to know each other before we finally had our first date: takeout pizza from Ambassador at his apartment. Simple, cozy, and perfect. Our second date was at my place, and somewhere between talking, laughing, and pretending we weren’t already smitten, I asked if he’d come to my college graduation. The night before the ceremony, he asked me to be his girlfriend, timing that was both sweet and very on brand for us. From there, everything just fit. We spent our time outdoors: hiking, camping, hammocking, and rock hunting along the shores of Lake Superior. Nature became our favorite backdrop for building a life together. And then there was Ava. She’d been with me long before we met and he was definitely a little scared of her at first (She has a big personality for a small fluffy creature). But she won him over, and a couple of years later we added Alfie to the mix, officially becoming a family of four. Now, after years of adventures, laughter, and cozy nights with the cats, we’re so excited to start this next chapter together.
