It was a crisp October weekend in the beautiful North Carolina mountains. We had both attended The Wilds Christian retreat before, but it wasn't until fall of 2019 that I randomly decided to approach the group of strangers at the ping pong table and ask to play. It was Mark that accepted the challenge. Little did he expect to lose to a girl – and little did I expect to start falling in love with him! It didn't take long for me to know that this is the man that I had been praying for and waiting to meet. I thank God everyday for setting us up that night, because it surely wasn't a coincidence.

I met Pamela one late October weekend a couple of years ago at the Wilds Christian Retreat. Just before dinner, a group of friends and I were playing ping pong in one of the game rooms. I was doing pretty well, and after beating my opponent, I asked if there was anyone else that wanted to play (AKA wishing to lose :p). Before I knew it, this beautiful girl with bright orange shorts is dueling me. I may or may not have lost that ping pong game (the world may never know... ok, I lost), but in a truer sense I won something greater. After that game, Pamela and I formally introduced ourselves and started talking... which led to more talking and a discovery that this pretty girl with bright orange shorts is more than just that. She is a genuine, kind, smart, strong and Godly woman. After that night, our friendship soon grew into a relationship which has continually flourished, and we are now excited to commit our lives to each other on April 30th!
