Our story began in January 2018 when Shun saw Keondra in a group in which they were both members. Shun was browsing around the group when Keondra caught Shun's eye, so she sent her a friend request. The friend request went unanswered for a few days because Keondra didn't know who Shun was other than being a part of a group together. After a few days, a friend request with not so much as a hey caught Keondra's attention, plus she was a beautiful woman, so that was a plus. She accepted the Facebook friend request and followed it with a message to Shun asking why she sent a friend request without speaking, and from there, a friendship evolved. Once the conversation started, it never stopped. Shun and Keondra messaged, talked, and text every day since that day. After talking for a little while, Keondra felt like it must have been meant for them to meet since they missed their first meeting at Technicolor by just three months. We literally stayed about ten minutes apart, so we were making plans to meet for a first date the following Saturday. Saturday's meeting came sooner than expected. You see, Shun was riding with her brother, niece, and nephew when she realized she was down the street from Keondra's apartment, so she called and asked if they could stop by. She must've thought she was being catfished, so Shun sent her brother and nephew up to Keondra's apartment to see if she was, in fact, who she claimed to be. Turns out, she was! Shun finally came up, they met, and became joined at the hip from that day forward. They made things official on January 26th.
After months of planning and worrying that something would go terribly wrong, I purchase everything I needed to make the day perfect. I decided that the perfect time to propose would be on Valentine's Day. Why, because Keondra would not be expecting a change in plans because she knows that I am all about my calendar so once I put it on my calendar it is permanently marked in my head that that's what we will do. Originally, the plan was for Keondra and me to spend the entire day doing things around the city before heading home to cook a romantic dinner together. We enjoyed the city, but after that, I told her that we needed to stop at her mom's apartment. Little did she know I had a little trick up my sleeve. You see, I had already had dinner covered. I recruited her mother as the chef for the night and her sister decorated. I went in to check on things which were normal since I told her I came to get something. Once I knew that everything was ready and in place, I called her on the phone and asked her to come in for a minute. When she walked in, I was standing there beside the table waiting for my queen. She was so surprised. With all the planning and worrying, everything paid off and I pulled off the perfect proposal right under her nose. On February 14th, 2020, we ate a delicious dinner and I proposed to Keondra just before dessert. She said YES with no hesitation and then we began planning the rest of their lives together. Initially, the two of us planned to get married on February 14, 2021, but COVID-19 began to show its presence and we decided that the best decision would be to push our wedding back for the safety of our guests and each other.
