Anyone that knows me, knows I LOVE country concerts. August 18th, 2012, my friend Amber and I received tickets to see Sugarland in Lake Tahoe. We said yes and jumped in the car. Not having a plan, we stopped into Target to buy a dress to wear (this is important). We got ready in a casino bathroom and hit the concert, we explored and had the time of our lives singing and dancing. Halfway through the show, we decided we needed to be front row, we made our way to the front when a woman tapped me on the shoulder and complimented my dress (thanks, target!) After chatting for awhile, we posed for a photo (that she sent to Andrew) and she said “I think you’d be perfect for my son” and showed me his picture. I thought, “who is this handsome guy and how do I meet him?” She asked for my phone number to give to her son, Andrew. Thinking to myself, “I will probably never hear from this guy or see this lady again in my life, what could hurt?” So I gave her my number. A few hours later, I get a text from an unknown number that says “Hey this is Andrew, sorry about my mom.” I’d say Alice’s instincts were spot on and I am so happy I got that text from that unknown number that night. The rest is history…
After we began talking in August of 2012, Andrew drove up from Southern California to Santa Rosa, CA where I had planned a day of wine tasting at Jordan Winery (of course). We had the best time getting to know each other over one of our favorite pastimes, wine! We dated long distance (Long Beach/El Dorado Hills —> Santa Rosa) from 2012 - 2014. We spent every weekend traveling to one another and exploring Lake Tahoe, Sonoma + Napa County with a few out-of -state trips sprinkled in to meet his friends and extended family. In 2015, I moved to Folsom and we spent one year in the cutest apartment exploring Sacramento and the Folsom area. In 2016, an opportunity came up for us to move to Denver, Colorado, we were excited for the adventure and we packed everything up and made the move. We spent 3 years in Denver, exploring the state, growing in our careers, and traveling to Hawaii, Ireland, London, with a lot of trips home to California. While living in Denver, we found and fell in love with our English Bulldog, Otis. In September 2019, Andrew received a job opportunity that would relocate us back to Sonoma County, CA and we jumped at the chance to head home. We moved to Petaluma, CA in October of 2019 and are so happy to be back in an area that has so many of our favorite things.
Saturday, January 29th, 2022 I had booked a reservation at one of our favorite places, Hog Island Oyster Company in Marshall, CA. This was actually an early birthday celebration for Andrew. We enjoyed oysters, hamachi crudo, and a glass of wine. After that we hit our favorite spot in Petaluma for Happy Hour, Seared. Enjoying an early dinner + a martini with a twist {always} we decided to swing by Target for some home essentials. We truly had the BEST day together, enjoying all of our favorite things. We got home to play with Otis and while enjoying some bulldog cuddles + drool, I looked over and Andrew was on one knee. He said the sweetest words and asked me to marry him, after having the most "us" day possible, the moment was just right. After I screamed and cried for what felt like 20 minutes, I yelled "YES! YES! YES! We enjoyed a few glasses of champagne and called all of our favorite people to share the good news. It truly was one of the best “us” days. Now we can't wait to say "I Do" with all of our favorite people in attendance. Xo, Andrew and Jordan
