Common Questions

Question

Do I need a passport to travel to Cancun?

Answer

Yes! All U.S. citizens will need a valid passport to enter Mexico. Make sure yours is valid for at least 6 months past your travel dates.

Question

When should I book my flight and hotel?

Answer

We recommend booking as early as possible to lock in the best rates! Our room block is available until February 18, 2026, but flights tend to get more expensive the closer we get to the travel date — so the sooner, the better!

Question

What airport should I fly into?

Answer

Fly into Cancún International Airport (CUN).

Question

How do I get from the airport to the resort?

Answer

There are several options, including shuttle services, taxis, and private transfers. However, we recommend booking your transportation through the same link you used to book your stay — it’s usually the easiest and most reliable option.

Question

Do I need to exchange money?

Answer

It’s not required — USD is accepted at most tourist spots in Cancun. In fact, you can actually lose money by exchanging cash due to fees, so we recommend sticking with USD when possible. Credit cards are a great option for most purchases, but we don’t recommend using debit cards at certain attractions or vendors.

Question

Is it safe to travel to Cancun?

Answer

Cancun is one of the most popular and well-traveled destinations in Mexico, especially for weddings and vacations. Like anywhere, use common travel sense — stick to reputable areas, avoid late-night wandering, and travel in groups if possible.

Question

Can I bring kids?

Answer

Yes, if you must, you can bring YOUR children — but please no extra little ones outside of your immediate family. We are limited to seating. We kindly ask that they are supervised at all times and that they do not disrupt the ceremony or reception. We want everyone, including parents, to be able to enjoy the celebration!

Question

What’s the dress code for the wedding?

Answer

The wedding will be semi-formal attire in our color palette, or traditional Nigerian attire within our color palette. We can’t wait to see everyone looking their best while celebrating with us!

Question

Will my phone work in Mexico?

Answer

Most major carriers offer international plans or day passes. Contact your provider before the trip to see your options.

Question

What’s the weather like in May in Cancun?

Answer

Expect warm, tropical weather — highs in the 80s and 90s, with plenty of sunshine. Definitely pack sunscreen, sunglasses, swimwear, and light clothes.

Question

Will there be other events during the trip?

Answer

A few, but not many! We want this trip to feel like a vacation for everyone. The only events you are required to attend are the wedding ceremony and reception. Everything else is completely optional — if there’s something you’d like to join us for, we’d absolutely love to have you! We’ll share more details about any additional events as we get closer to the big day.
