February 29, 2020. Leap Day, the start of lockdown, and the first day we ever met! When everything was shut down, we found joy in the simple things: picnics in the park, sunset hikes, and very competitive online Scrabble. Between all the laughter and games, we knew we’d found something special. We have since backpacked through Europe, explored the West Coast of Canada, and road-tripped across the U.S. We've created new memories, inside jokes, countless Polaroid pictures to capture it all, and one big realization: home isn’t a place, it’s a person. And being welcomed so warmly into each other’s families and circles of friends made that feeling of home grow stronger. So then, on a hike in North Carolina called Lover’s Leap, we got engaged. A fitting next step for a love that began with a leap. Now, we can’t wait to leap into forever, surrounded by our favourite people.
