We met on campus at the University of Nebraska - Lincoln. It may sound cliché, but the rest was history.

Our first date was more of an expedition on a beautiful spring day (and Reggie's birthday). I wanted to surprise Reggie with a birthday present, so I baked him a few different flavors of cupcakes the night before; I may have gone a little overboard on the varieties. We started off the date at Holmes Lake, just walking around the park, and then venturing to the Groundwater Colossus. Somehow we ended up walking on campus and playing Pool at the union. By this time we were peckish, so we indulged in a traditional Japanese dinner. After some people watching and enjoying some cervezas at a few bars, we ended the night with a movie. We have the best luck with movies :P

Reggie drove us to Holmes Lake at 2 a.m. after a night at the Zoo Bar. That's when I knew something was up. We shivered out to the pier where he hugged me tightly. Reginald: "Darling this is where we had our first date. We have been together for slightly under a year. I love you. Will you marry me?" --Reg pulls out the box and shows me the ring.-- Shruti: "I can't see it!" --We both laugh, but you have to remember it was 2 a.m.-- Shruti: "I mean YES!"
