Cornell Tech Campus

Visit the college campus at the center of the thriving community at Roosevelt Island. A previously abandoned space, the construction of this campus was critical to the revitalization of the island.
Smallpox Memorial Hospital

A ruin of a hospital used to quarantine smallpox patients in the 1800s. The hospital was closed and eventually fell into disrepair, and is now an eerie ruin covered in ivy and full of history.
WFF's Cat Sanctuary

The Wildlife Freedom Foundation maintains a cat sanctuary in Southpoint Park, a small fenced in area with a cat-sized two storied wooden house. Take a stroll by to see if you spot any felines!
Franklin D. Roosevelt Four Freedoms State Park

The Octagon

Previously serving as the main entrance to a mental institution, this octagonal building has been repurposed as part of a modern apartment complex.
Lighthouse Park

On the northernmost tip of the island, this park features more views, both of Manhattan and the 148-year old lighthouse for which the park is named.
