Would you believe that message worked? We (like many other 21st century singles) met on Bumble, a dating app. After a few days of messaging, it didn't take Nathan too long to ask to go out on a date! We met at Craft 31, one of our favorite local restaurants, and had a 3 hour dinner. Our conversation just flowed and we closed down the restaurant that night! Many other fun dates followed- Friends Trivia Night at Mellow Mushroom, a visit to Saude Creek Winery, Cinco de Mayo taco festival at Billsburg Brewery (Nathan met Ricky, Kelsey and Mike here!- they approved, obviously!), more Trivia at Alewerks Brewery, a trip to the local Sweethaven lavender farm, and LOTS of Mexican restaurants. We quickly found our connection to each other, and truly lived the phrase "when you know, you know." When the pandemic hit, Nathan's proposal plans went up in smoke. But he decided to live in the moment and planned the perfect backyard proposal. When he suggested a date-night with a fire in the backyard, I clued in and did my nails. He had been sending meaningful songs to me for about a month each day, with sweet messages explaining why they were special to our relationship. We ordered take out from another local favorite, Two Drummers Smokehouse, and went outside by the fire pit. He played all the songs that had been stuck in my head for the past month (I cried immediately). The last song, our song- Masterpiece by Thompson Square- came on and he got down on one knee, with an upside down ring box (thank goodness the ring didn't slip out), he asked for my hand in marriage. And here we are throwing the wedding of a lifetime! #BeShrumingRyalls
