Bouldering Project - Springdale

Whether you’re a seasoned climber or a curious beginner, it’s a fantastic way to stay active and experience Austin’s unique fitness scene. Special Note: The Austin Bouldering Project holds a special place in our hearts—it’s where Kyle and Shriya first met and fell in love. Their shared passion for climbing brought them together, and the gym became the backdrop for their blossoming relationship. We invite you to visit this meaningful spot and perhaps feel a bit of the magic that started it all.
Central Machine Works
A brewery, beer hall, and music venue all wrapped into one cool space. Located in a converted machine shop, it’s got a relaxed industrial vibe, great craft brews, and live music on weekends. Special Note: Many of Kyle and Shriya’s early post-climb dates happened right here—unwinding after climbing sessions at ABP over cold drinks, good conversation, and shared laughs.
BookPeople
An iconic Austin bookstore with two stories of shelves, cozy reading nooks, author events, and incredible staff recommendations. Special Note: Kyle and Shriya both love reading, and BookPeople was a favorite weekend stop. Whether wandering the aisles or swapping recommendations, this spot became a cherished part of their weekends together.
Zilker Metropolitan Park
A massive urban park right near downtown with open lawns, trails, and the iconic Barton Springs Pool. Special Note: Zilker isn’t just beautiful—it’s also home to Austin City Limits (ACL) Festival, a favorite fall tradition of Shriya’s.
Gourdough's Big Fat Donuts & Coffee
Outrageously delicious, over-the-top donuts served hot from a food truck. Think fried dough piled high with everything from bacon to brownie batter. Special Note: This is Kyle and Shriya’s favorite spot for late-night sweets and treats. More than a few date nights have ended here.
Kinokuniya Bookstore - Austin
A beautiful Japanese bookstore offering everything from novels and art books to stationery, manga, and imported trinkets and treasures. Special Note: Even after moving to Dallas, Kyle and Shriya still stop by Kinokuniya whenever they’re in town. It’s a place that sparks joy—and adds to their ever-growing collection of books and notebooks.
Rainey Street Historic District
This charming stretch of converted houses is now one of Austin’s go-to spots for craft cocktails, food trucks, and outdoor patios with live music. Special Note: Kyle lived on Rainey Street when he first moved to Austin, so this area holds a special place in his heart—and comes with plenty of stories.
Codependent Cocktails + Coffee
A stylish lounge-meets-café offering coffee, cocktails, and a gorgeous interior that effortlessly blends day and night. Special Note: This is one of Kyle and Shriya’s favorite lazy day brunch spots—perfect for sipping slowly, catching up, and making the most of the weekend.
Peter Pan Mini-Golf
A beloved Austin landmark since 1948, Peter Pan Mini Golf is quirky, colorful, and just the right mix of competitive and fun. It has two 18-hole courses, kitschy statues, and is BYOB, which makes it a local favorite. Special Note: Shriya and Kyle celebrated their 6-month dating anniversary here, making memories between playful banter, missed putts, and lots of laughs.
Biscuits and Groovy
A funky Austin food truck serving up some of the city’s best biscuit-based brunches—smothered in gravy, loaded with toppings, and full of Southern comfort. Special Note: What started as Shriya’s Sunday biscuit tradition quickly became a shared ritual—one buttery, gravy-covered bite at a time.
